Welcome to Dyal Singh Public School

The Dyal Singh trust started its first school and later as it progressed branched off to have other schools too. From the time of inception to the present day Dyal Singh Public School, Sec-7 has progressed immensely. The School is situated over a sprawling acre of 5.6 acres of land. The building is divided into 2 parts -the junior block and the senior block adjoined by the administrative block. The school houses classes from Nsy grade to 12th grade. The preparatory classes are beautifully decorated with animated characters and fairy tales to suit the imaginations of the tiny tots.

Smart class has been introduced from grade 1st to teach the students in a techno savvy setup. They are exposed to the modern ways of teaching – learning method. The audio-visual media equips a child with better understanding and retention abilities.

Dyal Singh Trust was created through the munificence of Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia in 1898 along with two other Trusts i.e. The Tribune Trust and Dyal Singh Library Trust. Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia illustrious scion of Sardar Lehna Singh, one of the generals of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, was a great nationalist, an enlightened social reformer a visionary, a man of action and a great philanthropist holding properties around Lahore, believed that the salvation of the country lay in modern liberal education.

To accomplish this task the bequeathed his entire property to the three Trusts. It was an act of farsightedness. The country was passing through a dark phase of despair, despondency and exploitation and masses stepped in ignorance, superstition and obscurantism needed awakening and modern education.

IT HAS RIGHTLY BEEN SAID,” The Battle of Waterloo was one on the playfields of Eton”. The values imbibed through the spirit of healthy competition can hardly be learnt anywhere else. The school has extensive playgrounds and open space where students play various games, namely, Volley ball, Football, Kho-Kho, Badminton etc. Each student is encouraged to take part in games and competitions on house and class basis.
